Why did you choose a paralegal career? I developed into the role of paralegal after several years as a legal secretary.
What is your favorite part of your job? Client contact; success in locating “missing” witnesses and clients.
What has been the highlight of your career? Being named Outstanding Paralegal of the Year by the Louisiana State Paralegal Association.
If someone contemplating a paralegal career asked you for career advice, what would your answer be? Hit the ground running and learn all you can. Make yourself such a vital and necessary part of your attorney’s practice that he cannot survive without you!
You’ve enjoyed a successful paralegal career. To what single event or person do you attribute that success? I owe this to my first attorney boss, Lon P. Wilson. He taught me everything I know and was supportive and instrumental in my seeking the NALA’s Certified Paralegal designation.
If you weren’t a paralegal, what would be your dream job? Interior design.
Is there a quote that inspires you? Don’t sweat the small stuff.
What electronic device can you not live without? My computer
What was your first car? A Ford Mustang.
What unusual item do you own? I wouldn’t call it unusual, but I do have Janis Joplin’s first album when she was with Big Brother and The Holding Company.
What was your first job? In high school, I was a secretary at my dad’s glass shop.
