Kelly LaGrave, ACP, Honored by NALA

LaGraveKelly A. LaGrave, ACP,  Receives NALA Presidential Honorary Lifetime Membership at the completion of her term. In appreciation for distinguished service to the NALA…the Association for Paralegals, the NALA Board of Directors conferred honorary lifetime membership upon Kelly A. LaGrave, ACP, who served as the association’s 2014-2016 president.

An accomplished paralegal, Kelly has earned the Certified Paralegal designation, as well as Advanced Paralegal Certifications in the areas of Intellectual Property, Real Estate, and Contracts Administration/Contracts Management.

In addition, she has helped with the review and establishment of NALA’s advanced certification programs in Business Organizations: Incorporated Entities and Business Organizations: Noncorporate Entities. She also speaks nationally on a variety of business topics, legal ethics, paralegal utilization and paralegal certification. She has served in several volunteer roles for NALA and has been on the NALA Board in many capacities since 2000 including chair of the NALA Certifying Board. She has been a national officer of NALA since 2008.

Hailing from Lansing, Michigan, Kelly has also had an impact on her local legal community. She is a founding member and the 1st President of the Great Lakes Paralegal Association.

To Kelly, NALA empowers paralegals to “take charge of their careers and to be exceptional in their field by offering opportunities for paralegals to update their legal knowledge and to enhance their careers through a variety of educational programs and paralegal certification.”

Kelly believes that “the foundation for this empowerment is NALA’s paralegal certification programs. By providing the definitive national standard in paralegal certification, NALA provides paralegals with the tools they need for professional growth and success.”

On her tenure as NALA President, Kelly commented, “I found my service to NALA to have been both fulfilling and rewarding. I was truly inspired every day that I had an opportunity to serve. I am honored to have followed in the footsteps of those visionaries who have served before me as president.”
