Congratulations to Ida Rose Farhat, ACP, of Lansing Michigan on her receipt of the President’s Award by NALA…The Paralegal Association (NALA). This award was presented to her at NALA’s 2016 Annual Convention held in Las Vegas NV July 12-15.
The NALA President’s Award recognizes outstanding accomplishments of NALA members and their contribution to the future of the paralegal profession through their leadership activities within NALA and NALA affiliated associations. Award recipients must be current NALA members, must have held membership for at least 2 years, and must have at least 5 years of experience as a paralegal.
Ida Rose Farhat, ACP, began her career as a paralegal when the profession was in its infancy. Ida recognized the value of association membership and became one of NALA’s founding members. She has remained an active member throughout the years.
Understanding the value of certification for paralegals, Ida was one of the first paralegals in Michigan to become a certified by NALA. She later obtained her advanced paralegal certification in Contracts Administration/Contracts Management.
For the past seven years, Ida has served on NALA’s Certifying Board. Her service on the Board coincided with a period of phenomenal changes to the exam, including the adoption of online testing and the securing of accreditation by the National Commission for Certificating Agencies (NCCA).
Ida served for several years in both an official and advisory capacity with the State Bar of Michigan Paralegal/Legal Assistant Section. As recently as two years ago, along with a handful of other paralegals, Ida was instrumental in launching Michigan’s Great Lakes Paralegal Association (GLPA).
Ida Rose Farhat, ACP, is an exemplary paralegal. She has been a mentor and a role model for many, as well as an advocate for NALA since its inception. Ida is what every paralegal hopes to become!
